brainstorming toolbox icon Use this page to download a free trial version of Brainstorming Toolbox. This contains the complete, fully working program which will help you discover new ideas and solutions. It works for 30 days after which you will need to purchase a licence. Price of Brainstorming Toolbox licence: £24.99 UK (approx $50 US, or the nearest equivalent price in local currency)

Short instructions: (for detailed instructions and troubleshooting, click here)

1. Download the main file by clicking here and selecting "Save this program to disk" (or by right clicking and selecting "Save Target As"). Select a directory (folder) to save it to, eg "C:\My Documents\", press OK and wait for it to finish downloading. (If this download link is not working, try this link instead.) (NOTE: this file is just over 2.3 Mb)

2. The file you just downloaded is called "bt11.zip; and contains the compressed installation files. Run the file by going to the directory you saved it in by using Windows Explorer and the double-clicking in with your mouse. Press the 'Extract' button. This creates the full installation files.

3. Press the 'Start' button then the 'Run' option. Enter "c:\install\setup.exe" into the box and press the OK button. Now follow the installation instructions.

4. Run Brainstorming Toolbox in the same way that you would run any other program; Press the START button, select PROGRAMS, then run the 'Brainstorming Toolbox' icon.

You should have four icons:

  1. Brainstorming Toolbox - This is the full version which contains all of the interactive brainstorming techniques and tools.
  2. Help for Brainstorming Toolbox - Help file and tutorial file, explains how to use the program and how to order it. This links through to this website for training on brainstorming.
  3. Read Me - This file contains additional and up-to-date information about Brainstorming Toolbox. Please read it.
  4. Order Form - When you want to order then either use this file or click here to see our purchasing webpage. We accept credit and debit cards securely online or via telephone and fax.

These instructions may seem long but they are very simple to perform and are explained in great detail and clarity for your benefit and ease of use. You will find that they are easy and quick to follow.

2. Download the compressed file from this web page:
 Click on the highlighted line below to start the download process of one large file which contains all the files needed to install Brainstorming Toolbox. You may be asked if you want to run or save this file to disk. You should save the file to disk. Please remember which directory you save it to.

3. Extract the installation files from this compressed file:
 When the file has been downloaded then you should run it by double-clicking it with your mouse after finding it in the correct folder in Windows Explorer.
(PS. If you get an error message of "No CE signature" then the download of the file did not work correctly and you should download the file again.)
A box will appear which asks you where you want to extract it to. Please use the default settings unless you have a particular reason not to. This will extract the files to a directory called "C:\INSTALL". Now press the "Extract" button.

4. Install Brainstorming Toolbox:
 In Windows Explorer, run the file called "setup.exe" in the "C:\INSTALL" directory to begin the installation. Follow the instructions. Please use the default settings unless you have a particular reason not to. Please write down the name of the directory where you have installed Brainstorming Toolbox if you choose another directory.
If you have any difficulties in installing Brainstorming Toolbox make sure that you have not got any other programs running at the same time. Some programs such as virus checkers and Microsoft Office can cause installation problems.

To see what programs you have got running and to be able to close them down you should:

Press the CONTROL and the ALT and the DELETE keys at the same time ONCE only.

You will then see a list of programs which are open. Select the ones you want to close down and press the END TASK button. (Please note that you should not close down "Explorer".)
(N.B. If you are concerned about closing down a virus checker then first cut off your connection to the Internet and scan your whole computer before doing so or scan the directory containing the extracted files.)

If you are told that there has been a conflict in running the installation package but you have checked that no other files are open, please exit and restart Windows and try again after closing down the extra programs. Unfortunately Windows has some problems with it and very occasionally this has had to be done to install properly.

Note: This Brainstorming Toolbox installation uses a program written by Microsoft to install the files.


5. Remove the installation files:
 If you want you can delete the installation files and directories when you have successfully finished the installation. These files are in the directory called "C:\INSTALL"

6. Run Brainstorming Toolbox:
 Run Brainstorming Toolbox in the same way that you would run any other program:

Press the START button, select PROGRAMS, then run the 'Brainstorming Toolbox' icon.
